Preparing for Kenya

I am in the process of preparing to move to Kenya, Africa for about 5 1/2 months later this year. This site has been created as a way for supporters, friends and those interested in the journey to find out information along the way. I have been to Nairobi, Kenya before to work with the Made In The Streets ministry where I plan to work later this year. It should work to my favor that I have been there before since I know basically what to expect and what I need to take with me/can buy there, etc. As the time comes closer, I am getting really excited while trying to maintain focus on why I am going. And that is to work with the ministry in its operations, helping students and teachers gain better writing skills as well as learning how to read and speak English, a primary language necessary for success in the business in that area. I also plan to work with developing curriculum for the teachers, spend time with the team members as we work with children and adults still living in the slums and help tutor kids among other things.

Right now, I am trying to raise more money, buy plane tickets, buy supplies and figure out other details.
