If you have been following the news, you have seen that political and social problems have erupted in Kenya following disputed election results. While the situation seems mostly stable in terms of violence except for in certain areas of the nation, the damages to families, communities and the economy will be felt for a long time. Though I postponed my trip a couple of weeks, things are reported to be fine for me to go ahead with my current plan to leave at the end of January. I have been communicating with people in Kenya and the advisors of the MITS ministry to make sure I have clearance from them to go ahead with the plan. They report that the situation is almost back to normal where I will be located. During the next couple of weeks, I will be making final preparations to get supplies, pack and finish a project I am working on for the ministry.
